Marco Porcher schließt sich einem höherklassigen Verein an.
Die bringiton Ballers müssen in der kommenden Saison der Regionalliga West auf einen ihrer absoluten Leistungsträger verzichten. Nach einer herausragenden Spielzeit, mit 16,2 Punkten pro Spiel avancierte er zum zweitbesten Werfer des Teams, sucht der Spanier Marco Porcher eine neue sportliche Herausforderung in einem höherklassigen Verein. Gerne hätten die TVI-Verantwortlichen mit dem Spanier, der sich als absoluter Volltreffer erwies, weitergearbeitet, doch am Ende war der Reiz sich noch einmal höherklassig zu beweisen zu groß. Porcher spricht von einer „traurigen und harten Entscheidung“, am Ende musste er aber auf sich selber und seine sportliche Entwicklung schauen. Die Stimmen zum Abgang von Marco Porcher:
Marco Porcher: „Hello everyone, I have recently made the very tough and sad decision to not continue as part of TVI for the next season. I have decided to bet on myself and take a shot at playing in a higher league. Firstly, I want to thank Diesel and Marc Pohlmann for trusting my abilities as a basketball player and allowing me to play my game. This has by far been my best season yet in my career, and that could not have been possible without their trust. I also want to thank all of my teammates who were a part of this season with me. It didn’t end how we expected, or how anyone expected due to the CoronaVirus Pandemic, but we were all very excited and ready to compete in the Playoffs. I was looking forward to being on the court with you guys next season and working together to move up. Last, but not least, I want to thank all the fans and everyone that works behind the scenes for TVI. You all made this experience so much better with your constant support and dedication to this club. I want to tell you all that I have seen how much work Diesel and others have been putting in to make sure that next season is the season that TVI moves up to Pro B, as you all have been fighting to do for so long. I can confidently say that next season will be very successful, with or without me. You have a new and excellent coach and person in Geno Nesbitt, and a strong core of returning players as well. And I am a firm believer that when you do things the right way success will follow. And Diesel and everyone else is working hard this off-season to do things the right way. Wir hätten ihn nur allzu gerne weiter verpflichtet und waren in den letzten Tagen und Wochen in ganz engem Kontakt. Leider hat er sich nun für eine neue Herausforderung entschieden. Ich kenne bereits die Details, darf aber mehr dazu nicht sagen. Nur soviel: Ich freue mich für Marco und seine Chance. Für uns gilt es jetzt einen sehr starken Ersatz zu besorgen,der sportlich und charakterlich passt. Ball together.”
